As Senior Art Director at Starbucks, I conceptualized, pitched, captured and edited visuals for Starbucks’ global social channels. Often these concepts were connected to a seasonal beverage or cultural moment that was relevant to our target audience segments.

My role: concept, design, photography, editing, illustration. All work was created with my copywriting partner, Lea Bouma.

Netflix x Starbucks

To help promote a partnership with Netflix, we collaborated with the Netflix social team to conceptualize and create an Instagram Carousel to drum up excitement about the next season of Bridgerton. The concept paired Bridgerton characters and their personalities with iconic Starbucks drinks.

Evolving Illustrative Style

As Senior Art Director at Starbucks, I worked with the Creative Director of social to evolve the look, feel and style of how illustration shows up on Starbucks social channels. The goal was to bring a more human touch to the visuals, embracing playful hand-drawn quirks, and lack of exact symmetry.

Leaf Rakers Society

Leaf Rakers Society is a Webby award-winning Facebook Group of Starbucks super-fans, with over 40,000 members. This group was created to celebrate the ultimate of fall fandom - folks actively share their autumn obsessions all year long, as well as trade Starbucks menu tips with each other. Over the years, the group has formed an identity, and some characters (like Balloony) are unique to their group. Starbucks has even developed a creative style specifically for them. Illustrations by me, concepts created in partnership with copywriter Lea Bouma.
